I mentioned at lunch the other day that starting an OnlyFans would be a marvellous idea.
Not for me obviously, good lord no. Although I am told, on the best authority, there’s a niche demand for tweed.
My announcement did result in rather a prolonged silence, the kind one gets when something wildly taboo is brought up, like inheritance tax for example.
There was some pearl-clutching, naturally. Which I found slightly rich, considering at least two of them have a cocaine dealer they use like they're ordering from Uber Eats.
People are paying for content. Not blood diamonds or harvested organs.
I must admit though, I think OnlyFans is rather a marvellous model. It's splendidly efficient, no stock, no staff and no boutique in Knightsbridge bleeding money.
The fact that it’s occasionally filmed on a sheepskin rug is hardly scandalous. I’ve seen far worse at my club.
And honestly, if I were launching a luxury brand today, I'd probably be behind a paywall as well.
I can see it now, soft lighting, limited access and possibly a waiting list. And Krug, standards must be maintained.
I mean, look at Bonnie Blue! She managed to attract a thousand new clients in a single day.
Unprecedented audience engagement and a spectacular client experience all in one, it's really quite clever.
Meanwhile, most luxury brands can’t even get people to open their newsletter, they're so boring.
Say what you like, but these people understand long-term client loyalty.

PS. I can't think of a CTA, so I shall leave it to you to choose what to do, visit the website, join the newsletter, send me Krug.
